Type citronellal BIO Kininy olive
This eucalyptus was discovered on our farm; it is a new chemotype that the IMRA laboratory in Madagascar has named "kininy manitra" in other words scented eucalyptus. The addition of "manitra" to kininy (a Malagasy remedy in opposition to the remedies of the colonists who took quinine against malaria) is of a subtle level because God, in Malagasy is called Andriamanitra (the scented Prince).
It contains more than 30% citronellol and its smell is magnificent. It is a priori an essential oil with virtues similar to its sister which mainly contains citronellal but the contribution of citronellol makes it a particularly effective mosquito repellent at the same time as an antiviral.
I don't know it very well yet, but I would recommend it straight away to diffuse it in the atmosphere, to perfume the water used to wash floors to keep insects away, to treat minor ailments, insect bites in particular, as an anti-flu inhaler mixed with ravintsara and guava...
Zoe My wife, pours some with water in a window spray and, shaken well, the essential oil remaining suspended in the water for a good while, she sprays the legs of the wooden table on which we take our meals in the garden... We have no mosquitoes for several hours...
She adds some to the softener liquid in the washing machine for the same effects, she sprays a little after drying before folding her laundry and putting it away.
She mixes it with calophyllum oil and puts it on her legs and arms because mosquitoes love it...
For me it is a very pleasant smell and I like it as a diffuser in the car.
to be continued...
